I have read conflicting things regarding gravity. I have read in some places that its force is felt instantaneously between other bodies of mass. I have also read that the effects of its force traverse outward in a light cone (such that Earth is being attracted by the Sun's pull from where it was ~8 minutes ago). Where should I refer to in order to clear this seemingly large discrepancy?
Also (I'm assuming gravity travels at c for this), if you had 3 massive bodies in 3D space arranged in a linear fashion, one of the end bodies moving roughly tangentially, how would the effects of gravity from the body on the opposite end of this configuration be affected, if at all, by the middle body? You can toy with the relative distances, masses, and velocities as you wish, I just want an interesting result if there is one.
