If griz weighs up to 900lbs and can lose 40% (fat) during hibernation, we're looking at about 540lbs of muscle.

Silverback stays at a yoked 500lbs of muscle, year round.

Silverback can also hang and pull-up, one handed. That's over to 500lbs lifted with one arm. No grizzly can do that.

Silverback wins at least 10% of the time. Give it an axe and we go up to 50/50.

A two-week treatment of normal mice with soluble activin type IIB receptor, a molecule that is normally attached to cells and binds to myostatin, leads to a significantly increased muscle mass (up to 60%).[31] It is thought that binding of myostatin to the soluble activin receptor prevents it from interacting with the cell-bound receptors.[citation needed] Treating progeric mice with soluble activin receptor type IIB before the onset of premature ageing signs appear to protects against muscle loss and delay age related signs in other organs.[32]

Came into thread to say I'd rather get Grizzly upgrades. Bears have something Gorilla lack, stamina.
There used to be this meme of lion v bear. Some wild Californians imported an African lion during the mining days and set it up with a smol brown bear. The lion lasted a few seconds. A gorilla might last a little longer but they lack endurance due to the vegan diet.

Silverbacks are regular gorillas.
They're like orangutans in that when they become dominate males they go through almost a second puberty. In gorillas they just get a little bigger and the silver back, orangutans get the cheek pads and double in size.

I'm pretty sure it shit itself from pain. The smaller bear had clamped down on its ear and refused to let go. It seemed like a strategy because the smaller bear went for the same spot again after it lost its grip. The larger bear started the fight thinking it had the size advantage, but ended up submitting in the end.

Gorilla seem to have real limits to their endurance. Grizzlies can run at over 20mph for miles and sprint over 30mph. They have much closer to human endurance, I'm assuming some of that is their meat-heavy omnivorous diet.
