If it’s the general GRE, you’re fine. Few programs care, and you can get a good/great score with minimal studying (< 1 week).

If it’s the GRE subject, just study and do your best. Worst case scenario, it’ll suck and you’ll lose the tiebreaker to some kid who has exactly the same GPA, rec letters and research experience as you.

A buddy of mine got ~50%ile on his physics GRE subject test and still got into Stanford.

My program only takes applicants who can do better than the 60th percentile in the verbal and 80th percentile in the quantitative section. Those are minimums though, and the program only accepts 45 to 50 students
