Yes. Aluminum only has potentially toxic effects when ingested as a very fine powder. Large pieces of aluminum will not leech into food. Don't put a steel spoon in it though because that can put aluminum in your food.

Acidic foods only dissolve aluminum if they're contacting another metal because the food forms a galvanic cell between the two metals, which is why you shouldn't use a steel spoon. If you put the sauce in a glass bowl and then cover it with foil, it will not dissolve the aluminum.

Hope you don’t eat at restaurants. Most restaurants use aluminum pots since a stainless steel one would be way too heavy to move. Can’t be moving 20L or 30L heavy pots, much less when there’s stuff in them.

The problem isn't that it's an aluminum pot, the problem is the absolute state that it's in.
She has a good assortment of stainless and even ceramic pots, yet she insists on using the two aluminum ones, both in that condition.
