He'll probably survive but it won't be a fun ride. When you're a fat fuck, you can do longer fasts easily since adipose tissue has ample nutrient storage and it's literally meant to be used as a reserve storage for energy + nutrients when food is scarce. His muscle tissue will need to be ripped apart for nutrients and that sets about a very stressful state in the body hormonally since it isn't the optimal reserve fuel. Agreed, I think the main place where things go wrong is whenever a power differential exists. If there's no mechanism that can be utilized to take out bad actors, society will suffer, and these mechanisms (in a market-based society) have to be equivalent in terms of power and application. Unfortunately it's fucking hard to do this, and that's why government is a shit sandwich. But so long as there exists a power differential, it's our only hope of taking out the bad actors. I think it does a decent job in the EU, but I feel sorry for americans, the government incentives are fucking sideways over there
