Legit how does the Michelson-Morley experiment work??? Am i missing something? One light wave is supposed to travel faster when moving in the direction of the ether, but i will move slower when reflected by the mirror, while the other will just move at the same speed. It doesn't make sense.
IF YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS IS MY LOGIC:
lets say it takes 3 microseconds for the light wave to move from the half silver mirror to the mirror it would take 6 microsecond to move back and forth, lets take the other beam which is moving with and against the ether wind, it would take lets say 2 microseconds to move to the mirror and 4 microseconds back it would still take 6 microseconds. How is the interference pattern ever change if this is true?
