I know meditating is a meme but it helps, just treat it as exercise for your self control. Don’t do anything fancy just try to focus on a single thought or thing and track your breathing, that alone will help. Try a journal. Cut out all substances for a bit, possibly forever but your milage may very. Physical regular exercise will help, even if it’s only a bit strenuous. The purpose is the physical discipline, it’ll help you develop mental self control. Cold showers can help too.
