An addition is a function in the sense that it corresponds two values to the sum of said values.
An operation is not a correspondance. It is a modification of an input in order to get an output. An addition creates a sum by adding two input values.
So, are we corresponding inputs terms to an output sum or are we adding input terms to calculate a sum ?
