Real farmers own most (if not all, in most cases) of the land they farm, you dumbass. Very few actual rent land, and those that do rent from other farmers that can't take advantage of all the land, so they lend it.

Modern industrial farming is so very different from the traditional view of a farmer which still survives in modern day folklore. The only people whose farming bears any resemblance to the the ways that Marxists envisioned it are homesteaders who live in the middle of nowhere and couldn't give any less of a fuck about the revolution. That's one reason why communist revolutions have only ever happened in developing nations.
