So what actually is tested during an IQ test? What are the question like? In a real WAIS IQ test I mean.
It seems pretty shrouded in mystery for some reason, but if someone here took it then they have to know what kind of questions they ask.
I heard they have vocabulary questions, that doesn't seem to make much sense.

mostly the brains ability to spot patterns in objects and their arrangements, so by taking many IQ tests you can increase your IQ by pattern recognition, but IQ has nothing to do with smartness or intelligence.

Which btw is how Jews manage to score relatively well on IQ test. They have they Jews who specifically train themselves to take IQ tests so they become better at it, than the average Schlomo. Then only those trained Jews are the ones given IQ tests which are to be included in global IQ statistics, thus skewing the figures.

if you have a kid and you want to make them "gifted", you can train them with books (to increase their vocabulary) and with educational toys (that will train them to recognize the patterns used by a typical iq test)

reverse digit span, its a working memory test. most people who post about iq don't realize that the most g loaded subtests are: vocabulary, concept matching, RPM, digit span/reverse digit span, block design. Not all of these are pattern recognition in any meaningful sense, yet they are still highly g loaded. Anyone tells you working memory isn't related to intelligence or that pattern recognition is the whole of intelligence is an idiot

Despite all the distractions in this thread saying that IQ tests are trainable, what they fail to acknowledge is that your ability to train is a product of your IQ.
IQ scores are a product of mass testing
you take a testbank of a couple of thousand questions, pick out 100 or so at random, give it to 1000 random people to solve. then plot their results. this produces a bell curve distribution
select another 100 questions at random and have the same group sit this new test and the position of each individual on the bell curve will be similar to the previous test. most of those at the top will be at the top again and most of those at the bottom will be at the bottom again.

If you practice taking enough IQ tests your IQ score will go up. Same with the SAT or any other standardized test.
