Water microwaving vs metals

So chem 1, water has the specific heat of 4.184gram/((JoulesKelvin) and metals have specific heats around 2 or 3 of the same units. Therefore heating a metal pan in the traditional oven would get hotter faster than water in the oven.
HOWEVER, when you microwave metal or water, water ill get hotter faster. What is going on here?
