>>11790273You demoralising fuck.
Anything is learnable with persistence, time and flexibility.
I struggled with the first year of undergrad (partly due to not having done math and science since I was 15), and I'm majoring in math now.
>>11790638It's a pervasive attitude among mathematicians. They make it into a competition about who's smartest and gets the highest grades.
These are the same people who'll in all likelihood contribute nothing new of significance to the field.
Unfortunately, it's also the people who'll clog up spots.
>>11790181Don't let that snake get into your head. It's entirely doable. Even if you have to take the subject over. You'll get better at learning and better at handling assessments. These are just learnable skills that are the result of memorising information through making the information meaningful, which happens as you get more into it and see the point of it, and relate it to other bits of math (as well as engineering, and other uses for math).
Literal 80IQ people can memorise huge quantities of information if it's meaningful to them. You're fine.
