Another way of looking at it is this, if man is just a neural net then his reinforcement mechanism is dopamine and he will tend towards addiction or uselessness, lobotomising himself by ever tightening the reality tunnel he inhabits with social media and sensationalism, the constant bombardment of free instant gratification via endless content will have a physical effect on your brain, it will lobotomise you and steal your soul. If man is a spirit then he can overcome that and reach a higher place of spiritual enlightenment wherein he can simply discard or ignore the distractions of the devil.
