If iron "guides" magnetic fields by its high permeability, then it would affect the B-field reading around the contour shown in the image. In this case, the B-field reading would show 0 (or very close to it), which would imply that there is no current passing the enclosed area defined by the contour, which is false.
Where is the error in my reasoning?
