Mainstream consensus among atheist scholars is that recorded history starts in 2000s BC, or in some cases (through poor interpretation of chronologies) early 3000s BC.

The first civilizations with records actually started around early 2000s BC, like Egypt (Mizraim), Canaan, Mesopotamia, etc. It really started after the 2348 BC global flood. The Tower of Babel incident happened in 2242 BC.

How is it that civilization and records only begin after this? Atheists believe modern humans have existed for 200,000 years. They see no conflict in believing that humans did practically nothing for 196,000 years, and also believing in such a parabolic and sudden increase in human advancement all the sudden starting 4,000 years ago.

The truth is the universe and the world was created in 4004 BC, it's only 6,024 years old.

Older dates rely on radiometric dating and cosmic background radiation, that is the entire basis for older dates.
