I'm a chemist and regular backpacker. I personally wouldnt ppb drops of silver to prevent killer diarrhea. Just use a Sawyer filter

I have a Sawyer filter, I am just concerned about cold weather since Sawyers are not freeze proof. And yeah I can just keep it on my body to keep it warm with body heat, and I do that, but I still want a backup option that's not susceptible to cold.

Okay thanks. Can I use pure iodine? It's my understanding that people usually use an iodine tincture which contains alcohol, but I don't want to use anything containing alcohol (for personal reasons).

Will that work with hydrogen peroxide, or only chlorine bleach? The bleach I use for laundry is just 2 ingredients, H2O2 and H2O. I believe it's 3%.

What's wrong with you? Are you mentally handicapped? Silver ions and particles kill bacteria and viruses. That's a well known established fact, known for many decades, hell even many thousands of years really - people as far back as in pre-Christian times used to put silver in water because they knew it purified the water (after Christianization the practice was portrayed as some sort of superstition), and drank water from silver cups and used silver forks and knives etc and prepared food in silver pots and pans.

No he is right. If you add very small amounts of bleach to a large enough volume of water the toxicity of the sodium hypochlorite should be negligible. As long as you're not using lab grade concentrated bleach.
