With the rise of the internet, it's entirely possible learn without a university. Any text book you can pirate, any forum can answer your question, any research paper and any information; you can find it.
Unfortunately, the scientific community has adopted the fallacious position of basing the quality of someones research on their character and how much time they wasted on a degree rather than the research itself. The normies would be correct in saying that it'd be hard for them to take you seriously. You'd almost certainly have to be a very high achiever indeed.
