Hey /sci/, urgent question. Is there such a thing as being at higher risk for catching a virus? Or is everyone really at the same risk of "catching" the a virus, the only difference being in strength of immune system response?
I'm in other words, to "catch" a virus means to have the virus enter the system. Then some people can fight it off before ever knowing they have it, while others have it more severely. Is this correct?
Instead of saying "at higher risk of catching a virus," we should really say "at higher risk of developing a severe case of a virus"?
Does that make sense or am I off base?
