Is it likely that we'll get a cure tinnitus sometime this decade? Hough Ear Institute is apparently working on a pill that regrows hair cells but it sounds too good to be true.

Putting chemicals into the bloodstream is a very crude way of interfacing with the body. Any claim that a chemical is going to regrow neurons is highly suspicious. Before we can do something like that we will probably need much more robust means - something like nanobots
