So I just made a laser vortex with a fog machine and laser, and I’m wondering if the image that the laser creates in the fog has a definitive name for this phenomenon

I understand the laser illuminates the tidal forces in the fog, but by taking a slice with the laser you can see the pattern very clearly. What is this called?

I’ve tried looking it up but can’t come away with anything conclusive
