You often hear of actual scientists who got their inspirations to work on some area or specific idea from a comic book, a tv show or whatever else. Taking that into account, do you think it’s important to consume various tangibly related media in case you get an “aha” moment? I’m not talking about consooooming DisneyWars, but something like Heinlein, TNG/TOS Trek or Clarke. Will it make a difference or is it a waste of time if you’re already focused on your work? Is the best “escape” something constructive like Art Critique, Poetry, Philosophy, etc?
