Dummies cannot override their implicit knowledge with explicit knowledge with explicit knowledge so they act instinctually.
Clever people know the explicit reasons for implicit behaviour, so do not try to debunk "implicit" knowledge. So dumb and smart people use this overlap to their favour.
eg midwits will complain about religion. Dummies just believe instinctually in god. Clevers know the explicit biological reasons why belief in a god/ religion may be beneficial to society so do not try to debunk it.
This is all "on average" im not saying no dumb person is an atheist etc etc
