I just made this isopentyl propionate. It's one atom away from the isopentyl acetate "Banana oil" which is a common lab procedure in undergraduate organic chemistry lab classes.

Interesting: isopentyl acetate smells like banana-flavored candies, while isopentyl propionate has a similar smell but smells like actual banana fruits instead of artificial candy flavoring. isopentyl propionate has some of that tart in actual bananas, whereas isopentyl acetate only smells sweet.

What should I make next? I'm considering isopentyl salicylate.
