My MS advisor which I completed wants to submit PhD grant applications.

I don't feel super strongly about a PhD, but he said I should try it before I enter industry.

Bad idea if you have a worthwhile degree which will let you get into the industry easy, good idea if your degree is research wage slave based where a PhD is needed
