>>11776410He warned us of an uncomfortable truth about modern society which has only become exponetially relevant since the release of his manifesto. Our lives are generally unfulfilling because we've evolved to overcome challenges, but gradually have come to live in a society where people live in a condition of being oblivious to their own deaths, and distract themselves with fake goals to satisfy their hunger for getting stuff done. People have come to walk on treadmills, oblivious that their lives go nowhere no matter how hard they work.
Our economy has developed to depend on people staying in this state of prepetual uselessness. People working mundane jobs that get them nowhere. Ted's solution to this problem was to rid ourselves of technology. However, I find DarkAntics' proposed solution to the problem to be far more convincing and inspiring
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zda9juuN724The problem lies not with technology, as Ted proposed, but the way our economy is built to use this technology. Instead of our industry being used to futher Humanity's goals, it's being used to futher enrich the richest while keeping everybody else down. Ted recognized the problem, but mischaracerized it as being a problem with technology itself, rather than *how* technology is used.
