Antenna General

Question.
I have a window mounted tv antenna that has been placed in the best possible area (direction, signal strength, given cable length limitation).
Unfortunately, my favorite channel grouping is almost always staticy and unwatchable. I just found one spot i can stand in that improves the signal. It's about 3m on the opposite side of the antenna from where the broadcast tower should be. And 2m to one side. There is about a 1m variance i can move sideways and still get decent reception. Any more than that or any forward/backward movement and picture is lost. Leaving the room entirely also results in poor reception.
Can anyone tell me what is going on? I have considered a few possibilites.
1. I am blocking an interfering signal.
2. I am reflecting some signal back to the antenna.
3. I am blocking some sort of drain on the antenna signal.
4. Some sort of harmonic resonance is occuring between the antenna and I.
Don't have any sort of signal detector for this, wish I did.
Any thoughts /sci/? Any tips on improving reception?
Coinceadentally I have the most prevalent tinnitus in recent memory while standing here though that may be entirely unrelated.
