Stand back! I'm trying science!

Due to the recent ban on menthol cigarettes in the European Union, I've been experimenting on several methods to infuse regular cigarettes with that illegal aromatic by myself.
The tests were as follows:

1. - Applying drops of Mentha Piperita oil onto the filter tips of the cigarettes.

Method: Applying 0,25ml of oil with a glass pipette directly onto the filter of a Lucky Strike Red cigarette.

Observation: Very strong minty aroma. Menthol kick not satisfactory. Smoke flow obstructed due to the oil being absorbed by the cotton. Greasy residue on lips after taking a drag.

Conclusion: Failure. The method used did not produce the desired outcome, albeit leaving a pleasant aftertaste.

2. - Passive infusion via aerosol.

Method: Soaking cellulose tissue in 5ml of Mentha Piperita oil, placing it into a hermetically sealable plastic container next to a stack of cigarettes without the tissue touching them and sealing the container afterwards. Steeping time: 3d6h.

Observation: Average minty aroma, stronger hit on the menthol, yet not satisfactory. Bad aftertaste of rancid oil aroma on tongue.

Conclusion: Total failure. Not only was the menthol hit in the throat underwhelming, but the rancid aftertaste ruined the smoke for good.

After my discouraging experiments, I've now decided to use a different approach. I've ordered 100g of pharmaceutical quality menthol crystals and 100ml of purified ethanol and am now marveling on the correct ratio and the required amount of applied solution onto the filters. What would you suggest, besides quitting smoking entirely?
