It's just an empathy thing. I'm 34 and still remember my graduation and the after party, and if you are a highschooler it's even more meaningful, it's like damn you're about to be an adult, the beginning of a life adventure. People just feel bad because it's a major life memory and you will always attach it to Corona. Think someone that has a birthday on September 11th.

I'm 24 and I don't remember shit about my graduation other than being annoyed that family wanted to see me walk. Some administrators I've spoken to maybe once make some banal speeches, you walk the stage, there's a lot of standing around and waiting, then you get to go back to the lab.

I think part of it is that it is a cheesy way to advertise their collage. Especially for the online schools. It's pretty annoying regardless
