After terraforming Mars, given the exponential progress of human technology, we will surely master this thing and become an interstellar civilisation. Just think about what happened between 1800s and 1900s and compare it with what happened in the past 100 years. Even the rate of evolution gets faster and faster. In my opinion, if we can overcome any natural disasters and keep the situation stable, the future will be bright. If not, we would either go extinct or devolve like we did in the dark ages. We are living one of the greatest challenges that humankind will ever face.
