so i had this idea which seems like it must be fundamentally flawed in some way. here's the scenario:
>be highly advanced civilization (k2+)
>approach supermassive black hole, say sagittarius a*
>build large scaffolding around the event horizon for power generation or science or some bullshit
>at bottom floor, create a moonpool open to the event horizon
>build elevator strongly and robustly attached to the entire station right above the moon pool
>enter elevator
>preprogram to ascend after a short period of time
>lower down into moon pool
>???
>you have now just escaped the event horizon

from what i understand the tidal forces of black holes that size arent strong enough to do the whole spaghettificationary situation, but this sounds like some ridiculous trollface rage comic physics and i feel like im missing something basic abt how black holes work
