There are loads of genes which affect the nervous system on the X chromosome, which males inherit one copy of from their mother. Therefore all genes are expressed in men, whereas in women an averaging effect occurs, due to inactivation patterns. So to the extent that male variability in intelligence is partly due to this phenomenon, I would say there is something to be said for this occurring in males.

It's from both, but consider that the placenta consists of genes mostly from the father (it's the father's organ, inside the mother) so it's likely that /most/ of the intelligence comes from the father.

But children in general usually can end up having lower IQs than their parents regardless of racial composition. So in that regard it's a case by case basis especially for mixed race children because now it's a matter of which "stock" each parent is from within their own racial population. Marcus Hutchins (british hacker) for example clearly has a higher IQ than his white native mother (nurse) and black immigrant father (social worker) due to his hacking feats and cyber security work.

No, I've inherited aspects from both my mom's and my dad's brain.
I've got the same logical capability as my mom, but she's good at knowing locations, unlike my dad who can't find his way anywhere, and that applies to me aswell, I've gotten lost inside of small houses.

I think so, mainly because your core metabolic functions come from the mother. A lot of brain function is mitochondria mediated.

However, some of the structural aspects and specific genes will come from the father. Personally, if there was an unbroken female line that I knew about... Although I realize that's the surest sign I would be a terrible parent. I see myself as a failure and want a replacement.

Mothers speak to their children. They get most of their lingual skills and intonations from their mother. Other than that, it's whomever is teaching them that will effect their IQ.
