Can someone explain how simple electronics work based on pic related?
It's a rice cooker that broke (the pot got burnt) and so I took the bottom off to look inside
I only uncoupled a few groundings, at least I think they were groundings for the ends on the yellow cable you see loose
I know some basics but I never really understand how it all fits together

FYI it's a European device that plugs into a regular 220V wallsocket
the metal bar there seems to complete a circuit by touching that copper-y plate, and is activated by a button on the side or the weight of the bowl that's placed inside
