Total opposite. He took an IQ test that partially measured rote memorization instead of intrinsic ability. Feynman didn't give a fuck about anything not related to STEM, so those subscores weighed him down.

feynman went to all great schools and exposed himself to a lot of genius peers (he was childhood friends with Shelly Glashow and others) but he never let himself take things for granted. he always reinvented every new result in his own way and it was often more clear and simple. that way he developed phenomenal mathematical chops (for a physicist... he breasted every integral but rigor was not necessary) and an excellent intuition. he was like a DIY guy for all the most advanced physics, no shortcuts or “look up this other guy’s derivation” crap so he had a full understanding of whatever he was doing

Feynman was a mathematical and computational god. His verbal was just very weak, this is clearly reflected in the the simplistic diction and speech patterns he employed. If you read his lecture notes he writes in a conversational manner with the vocabulary of someone who has not read any literature since highschool english.

I would argue that's part of his genius. He lives to simplify concepts. So naturally, someone with a will such as that will simplify their speech as well. And yeah, he probably did ignore the humanities as much as possible too.
