Currently 25, just got out of the military and considering a career as an MD. However with the amount of schooling required I'm worried that I might be too old to start.

There are 4 major exams that would have to take just to qualify.. you have to score in the 80s-90s just to go to the next level, even then there’s no certainty that you’d get a residency of your liking.

Not to metoon you won’t have a social life or anything for a good 6 years atleast and will fail again and again despite your best effort. Medicine is a dying career field.. you can put this kinda effort in something else and do way better

You’ve had a job and a career so I think you’d have the discipline to do something better with your life.. run from this shit stained MD as fast as you can

Btw medicine is controlled by pharma and insurance jews.. doctors have zero say in it.. little pro tip for ya

The medicine they show in tv where doctors are superstars used to happen in 1970s, not anymore

Physiology, cmol, biochem+orgo and chemical biology are science. Medicine is a profession that deals with healing and caring after the public, it isn't a science, they don't do scientific research or use mathematical modeling and empirical reasoning to explain poorly understood natural phenomena. Doctors don't make predictions about nature that yield new insights, they only try to predict the behavior of known systems with known variables and reproduce the biomedical theory they were trained in. This is totally distinct from science, its a lot closer to engineering w/r/t physics in this regard

The question is CAN you get into the schools in the first place? If you want to, and can get in, there's no reason not too. I thought I'd be old coming in at 27 but no one cares, and once it's over you probably won't be seeing your classmates that much if you're in different cities. Don't think about others so much

While I agree with you that your average physician is just the technician of the medical science world there are still doctors who actually engage in clinical research.
I work for a medical research company and our clinical team has a couple MDs who work on establishing the clinical trials etc.
