>>11756900I mean, this is literally all that's needed to start studying analysis, topology, algebra etc. Exactly what math do you not think you can study?
>>11756936>logic>not mathmodel and recursion theorists are most certainly mathematicians. I mean, just look at infinitary combinatorics.
>set theory, not real mathplease read a book about set theory or type theories before you go out spouting garbage.
>>11756975Category theory can be 'studied' out of context, but unless you're at the level to learn algebraic topology and have done a decent amount of algebra or logic, most of the salient examples that teach you category theory will fly over your head.
>autists who can't do other mathRest assured, category theory is a powerful tool for all mathematicians to study other subjects. But I guess it's easy to spurt out memes.
>>11757218>This misconception is continued to be regurgitated by CS undergrads and brainlets like you who think it's just arrows and abstract nonsenseI've seen a 50-50 split between CS undergrads who study category theory. Half the time, they are double majors who like type theory and algebraic topology. The other half are at most math minors who heard some buzzwords during their compilers class. I do think there's a subset of really good CS majors, but they generally seem to be absorbed into the 'math major' identity more than the 'CS major' identity, regardless of what they choose to do their PhD in.
