-Basic organic chemistry because it was boring and felt very unintuitive to me. Currently can't even name all of the basic different functional groups let alone remember the reactions like the SN1 and SN2 shit but I knew just enough back then to limp through the exam. Haven't needed that stuff since.
-Basic plant physiology because fuck that was boring and it was taught by the head of the plant physiology department who was an old crone who couldn't have been more dry if she tried. I knew I wasn't going to go forward with plant physiology and just tried to do the bare minimum but the exam was much more demanding than I thought it would be with large essay questions that required very specific and intricate knowledge. Passed it just barely on my last try.
All of those were tough but mostly because I wasn't invested and just wanted to get through them because I needed to. The legit hardest class I think was a class called "Cell signaling". Anyone with a general idea of biochemistry will understand how insanely massive area that is for a course that's a couple months long. Not only was there a ton to study, quite a lot of it was pretty complex and we needed to know all the pathways on a molecular level. Also the exam was a load of shit with like a 3D structure of a signaling protein and a question "what is this and what does it do?" that was worth like one seventh of the total points of the exam. Managed to pass it on my first try with 0.5 points over the passing limit and was content with it. I was never one for going in for a second try after passing. Just seems like waste of time.
