I've witnessed so many suffer from it; My grandma is the only grandparent I have left. People always attribute the nursing homes to the suffering, but it's really just the horrible, depressing nature of aging. People are making subtle progress in the field of gerontology, but it doesn't seem like most of the general public bats an eye. They completely ignore talking about their mortality, and the bright, motivated researchers who are desperate for funding. I think if the public actually cared, we could completely solve it within 70 years.
