How would mathematics be demonstrated or taught or conveyed without referencing material objects or physical feedback?

If we removed all integers or ability to reference them from a language, could said language alone describe discrete quantities without having to come up with new words or sounds?

Best I came up with was a conversation that tries to resolve truncation or tapering, and then using the success of that as a basis for future interaction or measurement.
