I'm no writer but I randomly thought up this world where most of humanity has voluntarily uploaded themselves to simulations and for one reason or another, a certain, very small demographic of people have either never uploaded themselves or they've left the simulation. Now they live normal human lives. And in the intergalactic community, humans are very rare because only a handful of them exist outside of the simulation.
