why arent you using your smarts to make bank on startup biotech stocks? most people dont understand the scientific jargon in the whitepapers so they end up losing money on huge gambles on research that ends up nowhere, but im sure some of you here are smart enough to separate out potential winners from losers to make huge gains

Your assumption that a bioshit company's scientific skills are what separate winners from losers is flawed. That doesn't matter at all; profit in the biotech industry is strictly a matter of politicking.

but there are plenty of biotech stocks that skyrocket after their drug passes FDA trials. all im saying is if you can understand the science behind their proposals, you have a much better chance at picking a winner among the many companies currently awaiting FDA evaluations.

Most people on sci don't know jack shit about biology. Notice that physics and math threads get a decent amount of technical replies, while people are bewildered about how inheritance patterns and basic genetics work in biology threads. Also, a ton of pharmaceuticals are utterly unpredictable, since the human body is incredibly complex and difficult to model. Most drugs will fail.

I don't know much about biotech, but I am keeping an eye on developments in asteroid mining. Once that becomes economically viable, it will be an incredible investment opportunity.
