The Bullet will travel until it hits the wall of the box. The Bullet will impact the box imparting most of its linear momentum before bouncing off the wall.
The box is now moving in a linear direction and will eventually pick up your mass as it travels slowing it down a little bit in proportion to your weight vs the box.
The whole point is the recoil from the gun would normally be directed in the opposite direction. This is not true when you create a system that simply turns energy from the recoil into stored centripetal energy.
