>>11725223Hi OP, I started studying a master last semester at ETH. I might even see you in EE classes.
I hope you've packed your gold bags? I don't know where you're from, but even for normal europeans life in Switzerland is on roughly 2x as expensive as what they're used to. Be sure to eat at the mensa in the breaks as it's quite cheap for Swiss standards (ETH pays half your meal I think) and go to ASVZ, it's free fitness.
ETH is fine as a university, they try to be professional and manage to pull it off IMO. Don't expect wild student parties or anything, most students I've met would go home after their final exam, instead of drinking a beer and enjoying free time together. That's the biggest difference with EPFL too I reckon; the people that I enjoy hanging out with mostly come from EPFL.
Try to enjoy your time, ETH offers a lot of opportunities and you get the most out of it if you take initiative. You'll be a little intimidated at the start, but remember that if they've admitted you to the programme, that means they have a good amount of trust in you finishing it too.
