Life choices

Hey /sci/, I'm on the verge of switching my life course and I need help deciding how.

Since I was a kid I wanted to be an astronaut. I am currently a fourth year electrical engineer. As I grew up I kinda forgot about that dream and my goal has been stability (getting good work experience from internships for future jobs, working hard to get good references, etc.) Lately I have been reading and watching space related stuff and it has sparked that flame back. And I have decided to pursue astronaut or at least working for a space agency. I don't want to end up like my current co-workers, 50-60 yrs old working the job they've been doing for 20+ years because that's what they landed.

I have a few options on where to take this. My plan is to finish my degree (maybe doing a minor/double major? What would be best to take?), work 3 years to get my professional engineer title (Canada) and then go get a pilot's license through the army and then applying for astronaut/space agency. If I get rejected there, I'll do a PhD and try again after my degree.
Any comments?
