This might be a result of modern society causing them to be worse caretakers, and in the past it was different, but I'm just telling you my opinion. Maybe they're 'better' empathy wise in the sense that they feel other people's pain more, but that doesn't mean they handle it better. A man will try and help you, whereas a woman will just feel bad for you or try to turn it into a focus on her, i.e "You know I've felt like that too with xyz" despite it not being anything similar.
First reply is probably right, you'll notice women have a much better eye for detail. They tend to notice small things like how hair falls, how to dress people properly, how to clean properly, etc. whereas men usually don't notice things like that at all, or simply don't care.
