If a hypothesis isn't rejected after many trials, then it can be assumed true but not known to be true. Using this evidence, a person uses philosophy to determine a world-view on what the "Truth" is, but that part is not scientific.
This is why scientists of various religions/cultures/ideologies can work together. Science and philosophy address completely different questions.
