Humans are fascinating. In every society that exists or ever was one of the first things all people do is identify biological differences between the sexes and attribute roles to them for practical reasons. They’re not always the same, but they do always exist. There’s usually a good reason for that early on, the human condition forces certain behaviors. Pregnancy is long and dangerous and humans have a prolonged childhood where they’re very vulnerable. In nature dividing the sexes up like this only makes sense for a society to flourish. But the problem with nature is it’s not perfect. The whole way we maintain biodiversity requires imperfection. Parents don’t produce exact copies of their children, because trillions of things have to go right for a healthy baby to be born at all. So there exist all kinds of problems- homosexuals and transexuals exist. They always have in every society, and always will because they occur naturally. Gender roles may have played an important part when early humans were living in the wild or forming early societies with little tools or knowledge, but faced with modernity where the same problems no longer exist what use are they?
