It is an extremely vast field, I just started my master's this semester and the only thing i'm not sure is wether i want to be working with UAVs or power electronics.

It's kinda parallel to me, but I'm in a plane university team where one of the guys does the control dynamics. It's pretty cool to look at all the ways the thing can go out of control if it isn't well designed. Some gusts can make the plane go into a diverging oscillatory movement really quick if your aerodynamics isn't tailored to stop it.

Originally studied it for aerospace but now trying to apply it to hobby electronics - PLLs and power supplies are pretty fun. Also consideeing doing a masters degree for that optimal control goodness.

Did some control back in uni, mostly biological modeling. LTIC systems are far too reductive for most biogical processes. Often 12th or higher order systems were necessary to be of any use. Really enjoyed working on them though.

Want to into this at some point. Reading Gravity's Rainbow and CCRU stuff makes control systems seem very attractive. Will possibly apply it to some of my work when as things shape out.

Control theory is for unstable motions. Inverted pendulum is classical example. In that you need to control the force of the cart for the pendulum to stay in the vicinity of an equilibrium state. You consider that force as an control force and you write it as a PID equations multiplied with some constant to obtain Newtons.

For my bachelors thesis I will focus the projector of a DLP 3Dprinter. The projecter is balanced on three legs, each controlled by PIDs to approach a plane defined by multiple parallel focus value curves from a camara, sampleing in the resin vat (before filling it)
