we live in 2020. Search for an introductory textbook, download it, if you read it and can understand it, you're good, if you can't, figure out what you don't understand, learn that, and come back to it.

That being said, a basic course in physics will not hurt, so if you're interested in physics, why not just start at the beginning?

If you know differential geometry you can understand a lot. But if you really don't know any physics at all you are going to have trouble understanding what a stress-energy tensor or a Lagrangian is.

Depends on how willing you are to just take things at face value or not. If you just accept that physicists have a tensor that is associated with the presence of energy and momentum and this is associated with the Ricci tensor, then maybe you'd be fine without really knowing any physics. But just learn some physics already. It's got to be embarrassing to not even know classical mechanics.

Oh come on. Math has been about more than applications to physics since the Greeks, and an investigation of mathematics for mathematics sake had led to new ideas in physics, and vice versa. That is only possible because of specialization.
