Seems like a shit deal to me. Stop thinking about objective salary.
I would much rather have an engineering degree, and live in a place with a low cost of living and be able to buy a house with land in a couple years after graduating, vs living in some cramped shit hole where there is a homeless man shooting up or taking a shit right out side the building.
