>>11706620To be frank, I forget which website I am recalling the figure from.
>>11706884>You just compared a full year worth of flu deaths/cases to 5 months worth of coronaWrong. I compared Flu season statistics which cover the fall/winter months. In other words, the "flu season" spanning a decade.
Let's say that those figures for the flu were for a whole year, 12 months. That means at maximum you would expect 200000 deaths. Only that number is grossly inflated because hospitals have been caught inflating the numbers. Further, the area under the curve is not a simple doubling.
In other words, even granting the unlikely figure of 200000, that is just north of 2 times worse than the 2018 flue season.
So for the sake of saving two years of flu season lives you want the world to be locked down in commerce and transit, to start a world recession, to grease the wheels of the police and surveillance state, and to allow our lives to be dictated by a "new normal" aka "9/11 mkII: this time you really need to live in fear guise, it's for your own good to never socialize and remain sheep."
All for what, 120 thousand lives?
Now you will predictably tell me that this about SAVING MILLIONS OMG LET'S PANIC!!!
Only, more than half a million people die of heart disease every year in America. More than half a million die of cancer. There's your million dead each year. It's called natural selection.
>Compared to coronaSecondary items of comparison. Not really pertinent to your argument, which is that "DUDE WE NEED TO ABANDON OUR LIBERTIES OR ELSE WE'LL ALL DIE"
Besides the fact that flu vaccines and flu medication are really only important to people with immune system conditions and the elderly. Again: Natural selection.
>Americans are too selfishly stupidAnd there you have it folks. You don't even comprehend the basis of freedom. Freedom IS selfish, because freedom IS about the individual. It is not about YOU or the STATE. Otherwise they are no longer freedoms, but duties.
